Online Directory
An online directory is a collection of links advertising other websites, similar to a search engine, but displayed as a series of catergorised links. Online Directories are deemed to be static, because the links they contain do not alter in real time, where as search engine results change which each new search carried out. Online Directories are seen as good advertsiing tools, because of the permanent nature of the links they provide. |

Open Source
Open source (or open-source software (OSS) to give it its full title) is any computer software distributed under a license which allows users to change and/or share the software freely. Most OSS programs use a specific license agreement to satisfy the Open Source Definition. Open Source has become very popular in recent years as more and more people create their own websites and forums, with OSS being both free and easily customizable. |
