A reciprocal link is a mutual link between two objects, often two websites. The idea behind reciprocal links is that each website will send traffic to the other via the link, so both parties gain. |

Referrer
When you visit a webpage, you will often have been referred there by a link on another website, whether it be a listing in a search engine or a link on another webpage. This is known as the referrer, because they have referred you to the new webpage. Website statistics often talk about referrers, as it is important to know which websites are sending you visitors. |

Robots.txt
Robots.txt is a protocol designed to prevent search engine robots or spiders from accessing every page within a website. This is necessary if certain web pages or sections of a website are for members only, and not for the general public. The webmaster creates a file called robots.txt, which contains information about the pages that are not to be accesse by the spiders. |
