HTML Editors
HTML Editors are software programs that
allow you to edit or create web pages. Web pages use HTML code (HTML
stands for HyperText Markup Language) as a way of describing the
structure of the web page, by defining areas of text as headings, links
or tables etc.
HTML Editors allow the user to easily manipulate the HTML code to create
or edit individual web pages. Many new HTML Editors also work with other
related technologies, such as CSS, Javascript and XML.
Although HTML can be created with a simple text editor, such as Notepad,
most web designers use more sophisticated editors, known as WYSIWYG
editors, (WYSIWYG stands for What You See Is What You Get) due to their
ease of use. WYSIWYG editors can be used by designers with little or no
knowledge of the scripting language, as the editor handles the HTML
code. The user designs the web page using a series of text or graphical
tools, and the Editor then creates the relevant HTML code.
